Bontharambo Beauty K10 derives from the 1st female imported from Scotland in 1919, Beauty 91st of Hayston from Glamis. The Beauty Line can be traced right back to the 1st sire registered in the Scottish Herd book “Old Jock”(1) calved in 1842.

Sarum Burnette M10

Burnette Family line is relatively new at Bontharambo introduced in 2017 and originates from the well-known Sarum herd in Queensland. She represents old Australian and New Zealand genetics and still retains the original phenotype that the Bontharambo Herd was based upon. Mulben Embassy and Prince Blueblood of Ballindalloch are in her Pedigree, and she has a number of progeny that are breeding well.

  This family comes from Edinglassie Blue Bell calved in 1916 to Stud Cow bred by D.G. Clark, by Scottish sire Prince of Richmond in the 1st Australian Herdbook. Within her Pedigree is the well-known cow Erica (843) sired by Cupbearer (59) out of Emily sired by Old Jock (1). Buttercup also has the well-known cow Jilt (973) from the Tillyfour Herd in her pedigree.

A deep bodied, feminine maternal line, with a great number of females currently representing this Family Line.

  Diana H5's pedigree stems from Edinglassie Lady Paulina (Australian 1st Herd Book) out of Daisy Pride 8th (11126) and sired by Prince Otto (4953). With strong links to the Ballindalloch herd, and the Tillyfour herd, right back to Black Meg (766), the Diana Line continues to produce a fleshy, well-muscled animals that are consistently productive.

  Once again, a new family to Bontharambo from the Sarum Stud, the Estelle family carries some wonderful old Hazledean genetics from the late 1960’s to 1970’s. Further back Estelle’s Australian Line started with Bald Blair 2nd Dam (in 1st Herdbook AA) and has links to Scottish female pedigree’s,  Keillor Pet (669), Little Doddie (79) and Favorite (2) as well as Sires Grey Breasted Jock (2) and Panmure (51). The Estelle line carries the characteristics of slightly longer animal with great carcass merit.

  As we look at Ethiopians family her Dam exists over 100 years ago as Eddinglassie Blackskin (273 AA). Further than that she, has strong links to New Zealand and Scotland with Robin Hood (946) and Knight of Tyvie (2191) in her Pedigree.

Typically, a little longer in length, they have a smooth proportional look and remain an integral breeder within the herd.

  Heather is a prolific breeder, with a great depth of body typical of the original Aberdeen Angus.

With a large portion of the Bontharambo herd bred from this strong Family Line.

Her Pedigree from Scotland includes Diana(1782) of Tillyfour, Princess Margaret (12334) of Knochtry, Pride of Aberdeen (581) and Sires Strathmore (5) and Prince Edward (55).

This family is descended from an Edinglassie cow 889 calved in 1915 from New Zealand bred by Mr.McCombie of Tillyfour in Scotland.  This Family line contains the well know sire from Scotland, Robin Hood (946), Soloman (477), and Blackleg (1350). Her progeny still remains today, and she displays all the characteristics of the Aberdeen Angus of the day.

  The Nancy Line extends from Edinglassie Cleopatra (302 AA) which stems from the Scottish Cow Nancy of East Mains. Sires in her pedigree include Robin Hood (946), Trojan (402) and  Hampton (492). 

The Nancy family have a very good disposition, and their durability has made them a valuable contributor to the Bontharambo herd.

  As mentioned previously the Perinthian Line began when her dam Beauty 91st of Hayston, calved while in quarantine in Australia from Scotland. The Sire was Perinthian and therefore the new family name was established in 1919. Her Lineage is the same as the Beauty Line.

  Princess derived from Edinglassie Proud Princess  going back further to 5th Stud cow Bred by D.G.Clark (HB Vol.1 AA). Which was bred with Prince of Richmond. Further back she is linked to Buttercup 2nd of Glamis (10633) and Beauty of Portlethen (270) and has strong connections with well-known Sires.

Princess is a very precious Line, providing genuine honesty as a fertile and maternal contributor to the Bontharambo Herd

Sunbeam came for Edinglassie Lady Montrose 1st Dam (310 AA) with the 7th Dam named Sunbeam imported. Sires include Blackleg (1330) and Robin Hood (946).

Sunbeam is naturally thick whilst maintaining Femineity providing Bontharambo with just the type of cattle we aim to breed
